Cambridge Audio x DeLorean

When Two Legends Collaborate

Two iconic brands, one campaign. A limited-edition AV receiver shot inside the DeLorean factory in Houston.

The Challenge

Cambridge Audio had engineered something rare: a limited-edition AV receiver inspired by—and built in partnership with—DeLorean Motors. The product blended precision British audio engineering with the iconic design language of the DeLorean DMC-12. Stainless steel. Analog dials. A dashboard aesthetic meets high-fidelity sound.

But how do you photograph that? How do you capture the weight of two heritage brands collaborating without making it feel like a gimmick? The product deserved visuals that honored both legacies—automotive and audio—while showing it as a serious piece of equipment, not a novelty.

The Approach

We assembled a local crew and coordinated directly with Cambridge Audio's creative directors in London. Their brief was specific: show the product in context—inside the factory, near the cars, surrounded by the industrial craft that defines DeLorean's legacy. But keep it clean. Premium. Editorial.

We scouted the factory ahead of the shoot, mapping out lighting setups that would work with the ambient industrial environment. The product itself became the hero. Stainless steel finish. Analog VU meters. Design cues pulled directly from the DMC-12's dashboard.

The Impact

Cambridge Audio launched the limited-edition receiver with a full campaign-ready asset library. The imagery positioned the product exactly where it needed to be: a serious piece of audio engineering with undeniable cultural cachet.

For a limited-run product targeting audiophiles and DeLorean enthusiasts, the imagery had to punch above its weight. It did. The campaign reinforced both brands positioning: precision, heritage, and a refusal to compromise.
