Photographing a new boutique at The Domain in Austin
Austin · Retail store opening photography · 7 finalsThe images had to work for press, the web, social, print and the shopping center. The brief asked for the façade, an overview of every room and a straight-on view of each wall and display. The brand’s architecture team also received the full RAW library.
Nick shot it solo on a Saturday morning, starting with the façade at 8am while Louboutin’s visual merchandising lead guided the shot list on site. The wider rooms were captured as multi-frame panoramas and stitched in post so the overviews stay clean and free of distortion.
Retouching followed the brand’s standards. We cleaned up the ceilings and removed exit signs, fire extinguishers and cameras. The façade logo stays crisp, the baseboards read as continuous and the finish is bright without letting the product disappear.
Proofs went out the same day. When Press asked for a release image within a day, we delivered it the next morning and sent the remaining finals soon after. Press used four of the seven finals in its marketing.
